UK Harpist Alice Kirwan is best known for her dynamic and adventurous exploration of the harp. Since graduating with a Masters in performance from the Royal Northern College of Music, she regularly works with orchestras and ensembles including the Manchester Concert Orchestra (Raymond Gubbay Ltd.), National Symphony Orchestra, and Sinfonia Cymru performing at venues such as The Bridgewater Hall and Sage Gateshead.
An avid performer of contemporary repertoire, Alice is passionate about showing the versatility of the harp to new audiences; this year Alice has been working with Cantata Dramatica and was part of the premiere of their new commission ‘Akathistos’ at St Stephen Walbrook, City of London; she has also performed with the contemporary group Apartment House and regularly collaborates with Operation Lightfoot, creating new music and artistic projects in diverse performance spaces.
Alice enjoys working in the theatre and in 2013 was involved in the cross genre collaboration Pages From My Songbook, a multidisciplinary project at the Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester. She has also toured with The Carpenters Story including performances at Palace Theatre Manchester, Aylesbury Waterside Theatre and Cadogan Hall.
